Back in 2015, when we first launched the Growth Series at Reforge, these changes led us to pose three critical questions that every growth leader needed to answer:

  1. How do we approach growth in a more competitive environment? This question was important then, but it's become existential now. The competition isn't just more intense—it's more capable, more funded, and armed with AI tools that can accelerate every aspect of their growth strategies.

  2. How do we constantly evolve to a more quickly changing ecosystem? The pace of change that concerned us in 2015 looks glacial compared to today's reality. Growth teams must now adapt to shifts that happen in weeks rather than quarters, requiring entirely new approaches to planning and execution.

  3. How do we use data to drive growth at scale? Data was always important for growth, but AI has transformed it from a nice-to-have advantage into the fundamental fuel that powers every growth engine. Companies without sophisticated data strategies aren't just at a disadvantage—they're functionally unable to compete.

These questions have evolved from being essential to win to being essential for survival. In 2015, companies that couldn't answer them would grow slowly or plateau. Today, companies that can't answer them risk being completely displaced by competitors who can in record timelines.
